The Parameters schema

Parameter Name Description
Air Flow
  • Exhaust
  • Fresh
  • Return
  • Supply
<active part name text string before hyphen>
  • Sets component air flow types. Data property retrieved from the Building Part definition.
Air Flow property can be any value allowed as a Building part name unless a hyphen character is encountered. Characters after the hyphen will not be added to property, e.g. AcidWaste for Acid Waste flow type.
Catalog Name <Catalog name>
  • Set by application if catalog is available.
Center Of Gravity <numeric value>;<numeric value>;<numeric value>
  • The value is represented by X, Y, and Z coordinates relative to the component.
Flow Rate <string>
  • Sets Water Flow Rate type among the options such as HVAC, Supply, AcidWaste etc.
Insulation | Material Fiberglass

<user entry>

  • Sets data regarding insulation material.
Fiberglass is default value, but any value is accepted. Edit individual items with DataGroup System Catalog Editor or by modifying XML files located in datagroupcatalogs workspace directory as defined by product configuration.
Insulation | Surface Area (Sq Ft) <numeric value>
  • Reports total area for insulation in square master units. Insulation thickness dependent.
Insulation | Thickness (Inch) <numeric value>
  • Sets insulation thickness applied to 3D model.
  • Graphically represented in Drawing Rules.
Default insulation part symbology is applied as defined by product configuration.
Note: Changes to insulation thickness in components like inline dampers automatically adjust the damper's operator arm length.
Lining | Material Zinc

<user entry>

  • Sets data regarding lining material.
Zinc is default value, but any value is accepted. Edit individual items with DataGroup System Catalog Editor or by modifying XML files located in datagroupcatalogs workspace directory as defined by product configuration.
Lining | Surface Area (Sq Ft) <numeric value>
  • Reports total area for linings in square master units. Lining thickness independent.
Lining | Thickness (Inch) <numeric value>
  • Sets lining thickness data.
  • Graphically represented in Drawing Rules.
Default insulation part symbology is applied as defined by product configuration.
Manufacturer <manufacturer name>
  • Set by Manufacturer Catalog dialog when available.

Material Aluminum

<user entry>

  • Sets data regarding component material.
Aluminum is default value, but any value is accepted. Edit individual items with DataGroup System Catalog Editor or by modifying XML files located in datagroupcatalogs workspace directory as defined by product configuration.
Pressure Class Low

  • Sets data regarding pressure class.
Low is default value, but any value is accepted. Edit individual items with DataGroup System Catalog Editor or by modifying XML files located in datagroupcatalogs workspace directory as defined by product configuration.
Product Code <product code>
  • Set by Manufacturer Catalog dialog when available.

Status property can be any value allowed as a Building part name unless a hyphen character is encountered. Characters before the hyphen will not be added to property.
Surface Area (Sq Ft) <Positive numeric value>
  • Component surface area reported in square master units.
System ID <user entry> (to override System generated ID)
  • Sets data regarding System ID.
Any value is accepted preferably in the standard format as generated using the Assign System ID tool. Edit individual items with DataGroup System Catalog Editor or by modifying XML files located in datagroupcatalogs workspace directory as defined by product configuration.
While System IDs are already been assigned to the components / route, the value is set in the default format:
[System number]-[Air
type]-[Count]-[Suffix]
, for example: 01-SA-001-A.
Type <Manufacturer Catalog Type entry>
  • Set by Manufacturer Catalog dialog.

Right click option menus are available to assist in making some property entries.

The below properties are marked "optional" in the Properties.XSD schema located in ..\datagroupsystem folder, and by default they won't populate in the DataGroup Data Properties list.

Property Name Description
ASHRAE Fitting No. <alpha><alpha><numeric>-<numeric>
  • Sets the ASHRAE standards notations to fittings. The convention is two letters followed by two digit numbers separated by a hyphen.
Component Loss Override <numeric value>
  • Sets the fitting loss coefficient value set to override the default one in duct sizing calculation.
Correction Factor <numeric value>
  • Sets the correction factor for loss coefficient of flow used in duct sizing calculation.
Flow Rate (CFM) <numeric value>
  • Displays theoretical flow rate data.
Flow Velocity (FPM) <numeric value>
  • Displays theoretical flow velocity data.
Effective Flow Rate (CFM) <numeric value>
  • Displays actual flow rate data.
Effective Flow Velocity (FPM) <numeric value>
  • Displays actual flow velocity data.
Loss Coefficient <numeric value>
  • Displays the loss coefficient value of the fitting used in duct sizing route.
Pressure Drop Coefficient <numeric value>
  • Displays pressure drop coefficient data.
Pressure Drop (H2O/100ft) <numeric value>
  • Displays pressure drop data.
